The promotion of organizational commitment in NGOs: explaining the role of occupational satisfaction using structural equation model

Abstract

This study primarily aims to explain the effects of occupational satisfaction on organizational commitment. It is based on a survey conducted among the employees of Red Crescent of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The study also employs Structural Equation Model (SEM). The underlying conclusion of the present analysis refers to the fact that occupational satisfaction accounts for a critical predictor of organizational commitment. Furthermore, it is important to emphasize the fact that the contemporary organizations are required committed employees in order to improve their productivity and to approach their organizational goals. Accordingly, the organizations need to pay more attention to promoting the employees’ occupational satisfaction.
