Habermas is well-known by his critical theory entitled a revision on Marxist political theory. On the basis of this theory, this paper tends to explain the place of language in the formation of public sphere and in the enhansment of communicative action. This study deals with this key research question: how is the theory of Habermas associated with language, dialogue and linguistic communication, particularly in the formation of public sphere? Furthermore, this study examine the application of this theory in establishing the public sphere in Iran. Methodologically, this study employs descriptive – analytical method. Finally, on the basis of the theoretical model developed by Habermas, this study presents suggestions in order to avoid national divergence in Iran through sterngthening public sphere and promoting internal solidarity.
