Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the impact of globalization in cultural dimension of national identity. This is a descriptive-analytical study that was carried out with a survey method. The survey includes 404 pre-university students in Babol. These male and females students were selected on the basis of the stratified random sampling method. The present analysis holds a wide range of independent variables such as the usage of TV, satellite, mobile, internet, photo, music, cinema, and café net. According to the results of this study, there is a statistically significant and inverse relationship between these independent variables and the national identity sense. This, however, does not apply to the TV usage. Moreover, the results show that there is the most inverse correlation between the use of cinema, film, and mobile with the national identity of students. Also, the results of structural equations using Lister’s software indicate that independent external media, artistic tools and cultural space, with a coefficient of 0.40, 0.52, 0.38, can predict the students’ national identity sense.
