A Study on the Relationship between Lifestyle and Attitude towards Uncontested Divorce among Citizens of Rasht City

Abstract

 
If we see change in lifestyle as a way of reflection on people's values and attitudes, we can better understand individual differences in attitudes toward uncontested divorce, which is a kind of redefinition of traditional divorce. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between lifestyle and attitude towards uncontested divorce. Methodologically, the research findings presented and discussed in this pare are based on a survey, which includes 400 males and females aged 18 years and older in Rasht City. Research findings showed that there is a significant correlation between the dimensions of lifestyle compromised of cultural consumption, body management and media consumption with the tendency towards uncontested divorce. This suggests that a stronger tendency towards uncontested divorce are more likely to happen among those holding the higher levels of cultural consumption, body management practices and media consumption. In addition, the results indicated that while the background variables of age, sex, and marital status are held constant in the analysis, the intensity of this relationship becomes .This also means that the relationship between lifestyle variables and the tendency towards uncontested divorce tend to be greater amongst those who are married and aged 44-year and over.
