Generally speaking, the consumption of electricity in Iran exceeds its global standards and norms. The main aim of this study is to examine the relationship between awareness of electricity efficiency and saving in electricity consumption. This study includes 406 married women in Yasouj City. The findings of this study indicate the key pattern that there is a significant and positive relationship between awareness of electricity efficiency and saving in electricity consumption among women. Moreover, the findings show that 26 per cent of changes in saving in electricity consumption can be explained by awareness of electricity efficiency. From a policy perspective, these findings echo the importance of more investment and efforts in order to improve public knowledge about efficient consumption of electricity.
